Abstract

|
With a fast-growing the old population, the number of the patients with various adult diseases are also rapidly increasing. As the quality of life becomes an important issue, the oral and periodontal health is considered vital for that. Recently, more researchers investigate the relationship between adult diseases and periodontal disease. Diabetes is one of the most prevalent adult diseases and needs lifetime control. The relationship between diabetes and periodontal disease has been studied, but the exact mechanism of the relation is not known yet. The purpose of this article is to review researches of the mutual relation between diabetes and periodontal disease and to make a treatment strategies.
